STMS 2/3 NP - Refresher

How Will I Be Qualified?

The NZTA Level 2/3 Site Traffic Management Supervisor Non-Practicing (STMS NP) qualification must be renewed every 3 years in order to retained a current STMS 2/3 NP qualification.

This workshop covers the standards and operating procedures required by the NZTA Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management (CoPTTM), Edition 4 (Nov 2018) and subsequent additions and amendments. Traffic Management Plan (TMP – CoPTTM section F) preparation and design and site safety auditing are also covered. The attendee/s understanding and calculation of the worksite layout distance table for Level 1 Roads will be beneficial to complete this course level.

Pre-Requisite to attend this course level

Any applicant who has held this Level 2/3 STMS NP qualification in the past and it is about to expire , or has not expired for more than 12-months, should attend this one-day course to refresh the applicants qualification to a current status.
Any applicant who has held this Level 2/3 STMS NP & NP-R qualification in the past and it has expired for more than 12-months will be required to attend the two-day Level 2/3 STMS NP course to renew their qualification and cannot attend the one-day Refresher course date.

What's Included?

All course fees are payable on receipt of invoice (at least 48 hours prior to course date) to secure applicant spot, unless otherwise approved. Use invoice number as reference when making payment online/phone banking.

Cost @ $330.00 + GST = $379.50 (incl GST) includes,

Course attendance fee @ $290.00 + GST
NZTA Registration fee @ $40.00 + GST
Continuous Tea and Coffee throughout the day
Lunch will be provided
Parking available off street & 290m from train station
On successful completion, of course each applicant will receive a personalised TMA certificate as proof of qualification. This can be used as proof of qualification until the official NZTA wallet id card and certificate arrives.

Cancellation / No Show Terms and Condition:
Once your booking has been confirmed, and anything changes, and you cannot attend the course date for any reason, we need to receive a cancellation/replacement notification in writing, 48 hours prior (working day) to the course date. or a full charge will apply as per our terms and conditions. Exchanges are dependent on the replacement student meeting the required qualification prerequisites.

What Will I Learn?

This one-day course promotes safe working practices, standards and operating procedures at roadwork sites and is required to be held by anyone who carries out work or activities that affect the normal operating conditions of the road reserve (i.e. road, footpath, berm).

This qualification allows the holder to

Perform all duties of that of a Level 2/3 STMS NP; and
Prepare and submit Temporary Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) for Level 2 and 3 roads
Check and approve Level 2 and 3 Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) (with appropriate authority)
Audit Level 2 and 3 worksites (with appropriate authority)
Supervise Level 2 or 3 shoulder closures (following setup by a Level 2/3 STMS) or manage part of a capital work project (under direction of a qualified Level 2/3 STMS)

Following successful completion of this workshop, a student will obtain their Level 2/3 STMS NP-Refresher qualification for 3 years (from the date of the course). This course is the pre-requisite for people wanting further training to Level 2/3 Site Traffic Management Supervisor Practicing (STMS2/3) standard of the Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management.

How Will I Learn?

Each candidate will be provided with a Level 2/3 Site Traffic Management Supervisor Assessment booklet that must be completed throughout the course date. This will be marked by the trainer and final result should be received within 3-5 working days of completion of this course.

PREPARATION FOR COURSE ATTENDANCE:

Section G-H is a critical section to successfully complete the STMS 2/3 NP course.

Worksite Layout Distant Table for Level 2 and 3 Road: An understanding and calculation of the Worksite Layout Distance Table would be an advantage for attending this level of course.

What Should I Bring?

Attendees will be provided with a TM Academy device (Ace Chromebook or Samsung 10.1 Tablet) to use during the course period
