An applicant requires the Level 1 TC – Inspector qualification, if their job requires them to do non-invasive inspections on the road network, but not more than 20 inspections per year.
If their job requires more than this, then they are encouraged by NZTA to complete the level of qualification for the road level they will be working on (example STMS L2/3 NP if Level 2 or 3 roads). Pre-requisite to complete this course:
Level 1 TC – Inspector Questionnaire to be returned to TMA at least 10 days prior to course date for NZTA in Wellington approval to attend this course level.

This workshop covers the standards and operating procedures required by the NZTA Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management (CoPTTM), Edition 4 (Feb 2017) and subsequent additions and amendments. The workshop also covers Traffic Management Plan (TMP) preparation and design/site safety auditing.

This qualification allows the holder to
Conduct inspections on Low Volumes, Level 1, Level 2 and level 3 roads (with varying restrictions) with this qualification only.
Following successful completion of this workshop, a student will obtain their Level 1 Basic TC - Inspector qualification for 3 years (from the date of the course). This course is the pre-requisite for entry requirement for people wanting further training to Level 1 Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS) standard of the Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management.
This workshop is facilitated using a purpose built electronic-learning platform. All students are provided full training on the use of the system at the start of the course. Each student views and explores the material using their own personal tablet. This includes the conduct of all theory tests. Students must complete all theory tests and achieve at least 60% in each assessment to complete the course
Electronic device:
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own electronic device to the course (tablet/iPad/laptop) to use during the course. Internet access is not required when using your own electronic-device.
Alternatively, each attendee will be provided with a TM Academy device (Samsung 10.1 Tablet) to use during the course period
